Registration


All boys and girls in the Hartland area entering 2nd through 8th grade in the Fall of 2011 (9th graders, under age 14 as of December 1st), are invited to participate. For Questions please contact via email at hayaabasketball@yahoo.com

Boys in 7th and 8th grade who plan to try out for their school team but want HAYAA as a back up must still register. If a player in 7th through 9th grade is selected for a school team they may still elect to also play for HAYAA with School Team Approval, otherwise the HAYAA fee will be refunded. 7th and 8th grade boys are notified of team placements in late November and practices start in December. Girls who make the school team are still eligible to play HAYAA basketball.

Fees: $110 per player. Regular registration ends October 3rd, 2011. No exceptions. Checks made payable to HAYAA Basketball and include a team jersey. Late registrations accepted in person up to October 9th at in-house evaluations, at an additional fee of $20 for a total cost of $130. All registrations received after 10/9/2011 will not be accepted. The last day to request a refund is October 14th, 2011.

All HAYAA Players, including travel team players, must register with HAYAA Basketball and pay the $110 fee ($130 after 10/3/11).

Player evaluations are mandatory for all players. If you try-out for, but do not make the travel team, you must still attend the in-house evaluations. Each child must attend the evaluation for the entire scheduled time.

Girls 2nd, 3rd & 4th Grade (“Freshmen”) - Sunday, 10/9/11, Old High School gym, 12:00 – 1:00 PM
Boys 2nd, 3rd & 4th Grade (“Freshmen”) - Sunday, 10/9/11, Old High School gym, 1:00 – 2:00 PM
Boys 5th & 6th Grade (“JV”) - Sunday, 10/9/11, Old High School gym, 2:00 – 3:00 PM
Boys 7th – 9th Grade (“Varsity”) - Sunday, 10/9/11, Old High School gym, 3:00 – 4:00 PM
Girls 5th & 6th Grade (“JV”) - Sunday, 10/2/11, Ore Creek gym, 10-11:30am (5th), 11:30-1pm (6th)
Girls 7th - 9th Grade (“Varsity”) - Sunday, 10/2/11, Ore Creek gym, 1-2:30pm (7th), 2:30-4pm (8th-9th)

Practices begin the week of November 1st, 2011. In-house teams practice for 1 hour, twice each week.

There are 10 scheduled games that begin Friday, December 2nd, 2011 and continue into February.

Freshman Boys will play Friday evening at Farms. All other in-house games will be played on Saturdays in Hartland. 7th and 8th grade boys are notified of team placements in late November and practices start in December. JV (5th & 6th) & Varsity Girls (7th and 8th), may play in a SELCRA League and have double-header games Sunday afternoons (depending on the number of players registered) with the season ending in January to allow participation on the school teams.

HAYAA is an all volunteer organization. Any parents interested in learning more about HAYAA-Basketball, Board positions and volunteer functions should contact a current board member. Contact information is available here.

Travel Teams:

HAYAA also offers a competitive travel basketball program which includes teams for girls in 5th through 8th grades, and boys in 4th through 8th grades. Players wishing to participate in travel must still register with HAYAA by October 3rd, 2011. In the event that your child is not selected for the travel team, he or she will still be eligible to play in the in-house HAYAA league and must still attend the mandatory player evaluations on October 9th at the times listed above.

Travel Basketball Fee: Pay $110.00 at registration & an additional Fee TBD by Coach.

Registration option 1: Online Registration. Once you have read all of the above information, to register online click here.

Registration option 2: Mail in registration. Once you have read all of the above information, to register by mail you must mail your completed registration form and check made payable to HAYAA Basketball to: HAYAA Basketball, 12000 Newman Rd, Brighton Twp, 48114. Mail must be received by HAYAA before 10/7/11.
