About Us

The HAYAA basketball program is available for all girls and boys in the Hartland area 3rd to 8th grade (9th graders under 14 as of December 1, 2011). There are mandatory evaluations for team placement. This is a pay to play program with any level from beginning to experienced players.

Registration forms will be available in June - In person registration will take place in September. We will also offer online registration.

7th, 8th and 9th grade boys planning to try out for the school team but want HAYAA as a back up must still register. If they are selected for the school team they can receive a refund.

Girls that make the school team are still eligible to play HAYAA basketball.

Girls in 7th and 8th grade play either in a HAYAA in-house league, or in the Brighton SELCRA league, which runs 2 games each week on Sundays, starting in December ending in January.

Registration starts in June through the middle of September.  Evaluations are held in October.

  • Practices begin in November; Practices are 1 hour, 2 times each week
  • Games begin in December and go through the end of February
  • 3rd and 4th grade boys play games on Friday evenings, 5th and 6th grade boys, and girls in grades 3rd through 6th play games on Saturday mornings

Travel Teams: You must still register with HAYAA for all travel teams.

Boys competitive travel teams are 4th thru 8th grade.  These are grade - based teams.  Tryouts are usually in late September.  There is a box on the registration form to indicate interest in travel or you can contact the HAYAA Boys Travel Commissioner (Chuck Harris) at charris11684@comcast.net (810-333-5121).

Girls competitive travel teams are 5th thru 8th grade.  These are grade – based teams.  Tryouts are usually in late September.  There is a box on the registration form to indicate interest in travel or you can contact the HAYAA Girls Travel Commissioner (Bob Moriatus) at houserock4@comcast.net (810-229-4086).
